HaysMed Names New Chief Medical Officer

New Chief Medical Officer at HaysMed

(Hays, Kansas – August 13, 2012) –HaysMed is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Chief Medical Officer.  Larry Watts, MD will begin his duties on August 1.  He replaces Dr. Kenneth Lindsey who left HaysMed in March of 2011 for another position.

As chief medical officer, Watts works closely with administrators, physicians and nurses to help ensure patients are receiving top quality care. As part of the administrative team he will work with other HaysMed executives to identify possible areas to expand patient care and add beneficial services.

Watts completed medical school at the University of Missouri in Kansas City.  He is a board certified obstetrician/gynecologist.  He will receive a Master's in Health Service Administration from the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2013.  He has practiced medicine in metro Kansas City for twenty four years.  During this time he worked both in private practice and as an employed physician with Kaiser Permanente and more recently with Health Corporation of America (HCA)

He is member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Kansas Medical Association.

Watts was born in Independence, Missouri.  His great grandfather, grandfather, and father have farmed near Girard, Kansas for 135 years.   He and his wife Tamara have four children, Tyler, Kansas City Kansas,   Brittanie, Shawnee Kansas,  Chandler, Breckenridge Colorado and Madison who is in the Navy and stationed at the Great Lakes Naval Station.
