Drive Thru Flu
Hays Medical Center Foundation Sponsors FREE Drive Thru Flu Shots

HAYS, Kan. (Sept 7, 2011) The Hays Medical Center Foundation is sponsoring Free Drive Thru Flu Shots on Sunday, September 18 from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. The flu vaccine will be given to adults and children aged 6 months and older. People 65 years and older may receive a high dose formulation of the vaccine. The dose contains four times the amount of influenza antigens and induces a high immune response in this population who are most susceptible to complication of flu. People wishing to receive a flu shot should enter the North Entrance of HaysMed on Canterbury Drive. You are asked to wear a short sleeved shirt. No injections will be given to anyone allergic to eggs and thimerosal.
Along with the Drive Thru Flu HaysMed associates will be sponsoring an optional food drive. People are asked to bring a non-perishable food item which will be donated to the community assistance center.
