Elizabeth M. Ashworth, MD, FACS, cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon is a native of Indiana. She completed medical school at Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis. She completed residencies in General Surgery at Indiana University Medical Center and Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. She is board certified in general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery.

Dr. Ashworth has held positions in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery at hospitals in Indiana and Kansas. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgery and Women in Thoracic Surgery. She is widely published in medical journals and health related publications.
