Hays Med has completed a $32 million hospital renovation project, a $15 million Wellness Center, and a $17 million Rehabilitation Center that houses our DeBakey Heart Institute. HMC does approximately 200 open heart surgeries per year, case volume of 400 cardiothoracic and vascular surgeries per year and has a state-of-the art ICU and CPCU. Other services include a twenty-four hour inpatient pharmacy and ER, complete imaging services, Cancer Institute and electronic medical records. The population of Hays is 23,000 and is located midway between Denver and Kansas City on Interstate 70.
