"My Dad has dementia and then suffered a broken hip. Channel 22 was the most peaceful, calming experience for he and our family members both day and night. We never had anything else on in the room during his extended stay. Thank you for the alternative to a blaring tv." (CPCU)
"Peggy Brungardt was a savior to my father during his days at Senior Focused Care. The kind of person and nurse that we all pray for. My Dad just really would light up when her voice was heard. Her kind words and knowledge was especially important during the time I could share a conversation with her. I need to let the Center be aware that she is very special and is very needed commodity for any family. Thanks and God bless Peggy!!" (Senior Focused Care)
"I would just like to say my stay here was wonderful due to all of your staff. They were all great and treated me wonderfully, especially Anna-Lena and Brittany. They were so great to both me and my husband. But all in all everyone was lovely and I would rate your hospital a 10 out of 10. Keep up the great work!" (Surgical Unit)
"CPCU at HaysMed provided exceptional care for my mother when she had a pacemaker surgery. Dr. Fisher did a great job with the procedure and her bedside manner. We are thankful for lifesaving procedures performed at HMC. The nursing care was AWESOME! Cindy, Jeanette, Patty, Kathy and all the others provide above and beyond patient care. They were extremely polite, positive, quick responding and very gentle." (CPCU)
"Nurses Shanna, Brian, Charlsie, and other staff personnel are commended for an outstanding caring job. This is my first hospital stay and really first medical care of any kind and I appreciate the level of care, knowledge, and understanding that I received during my stay. Dr. Schultz is an excellent individual and I appreciate his bedside manners, his passion for his craft and his very calming nature. Father Joel is a character… and exactly what I needed while he visited with me and other family members. We are lucky to have a place like HaysMed in Western Kansas." (Surgical Unit)
"We have been very satisfied with all the staff on 2nd floor. The night shift has been awesome. Michelle has been a God-send with her patient, positive care of our Dad. Overall, we rate you A+." (Surgical Unit)
"From ER to 2nd floor surgical to 3rd floor Oncology (Hospice stay), we've had exceptional care. The Associates who stand out include Les from Respiratory, Danielle Haines on 2nd, Valerie and Amy on 3rd, Cheryl and Camille with patient care. All helped made my Dad's final days comfortable, respectful, compassionate and peaceful. Thanks Amy for your compassion especially in his final hours and after his death. Staff took care of Dad as if he was their own father. Security also helped clean snow off my Mom's car and then the next day helped her carry some things up to the room. Thanks!" (Inpatient Oncology)
"Our stay in OB has been wonderful. All of the PCTs and Nurses have been very attentive and friendly. I have no complaints about any of your staff. Several people stand out as going above and beyond. PCT: Carolyn was just awesome. She was so caring and friendly. Nurses Cathy and Nichole and Danae and Leann were also so great. All 4 were just so impressive with their knowledge and just taking care of everything. Also, the 2 nurses I had who took car of me during pre and post op were wonderful. I was so nauseous and they went above and beyond to try and make me as comfortable as possible. You definitely have a great OB staff! Thank You!" (Women's Center)"Everything is perfect. I don't know of any way to change anything. It is hard to fix perfect!" (CPCU)
"I was and am very impressed by all the care and love shown to me while I was here. God has blessed this community with great people and caregivers in all levels. Keep up the faith and all the good works. My family and husband are all very grateful also." (CPCU)
"The weekend after my surgery my knee swelled up, became very painful and I was unable to move it. The OT and PT people worked on my problems and kept ice on the knee. By Tuesday I was doing well and by Friday I had progressed to the point where I was to go home 3 days early. They did a great job. A great staff that really cares about each individual." (Inpatient PT/OT)

"Thank you all for your excellent care Jan 13-16th. You all were so pleasant and
upbeat as well as knowledgeable about your craft. It really made me want to grab
my scrubs and join you all. I really miss working with cardio patients. Thank you for
making me a member of the mag citrate drinking club. I've been a member of the
-lytely and Phosphasoda club for years. Now the Tri-fecta. Thanks again!" (CPCU)
"What a wonderful crew! Probably the very nicest and helpful hospital staff we have
ever encountered. You all need a pay RAISE! Thank you so much!!" (General)
"Everyone who cared for us during our stay did an amazing job! All staff came across
as genuinely caring and very personable. Everyone from the PCTs to nurses to
anesthesia up to the doctors made our stay very comfortable. Thank You!"
(Womens Center)
"We were personally impressed with all the staff that helped with our caregiving.
They were all very friendly and passionate about their jobs. Our room was always
clean and anytime we asked for something, they brought it right out to us. We
were definitely pleased with our stay."
(Women's Center)
"I would like to thank Katerina. She was exceptional. I am very happy that she
took part in the birth of Malcolm, whtout her support I do not feel like I could have
done it. I will forever remember her. I would also like to thank Shannon and Lisa
who took very good care of myself and Malcolm after delivery. This is the best
hospital stay I have ever had." (Womens Center)
"The doctor and staff have made a very stressful situation very, very calm and peaceful.
My son's stay here was excellent! The doctor took very good care of Thomas!
Thank You All!" (Inpatient Pediatrics)
"I was brought here by ambulance from Goodland and heard nothing but excellent
things about HMC. Since my stay, I can attest to this fact – everyone was kind,
thorough, and caring beyond belief. The ER staff and the CPCU staff should all be
commended." (CPCU)
"You've all been so great with Dad while here in CPCU twice this month – for hip
surgery as well as a pacemaker. You are very tolerant of his "hard-of-hearing,"
his painful "parts" and his dignity! The care is excellent here at Hays Med Center!
Thanks!" (CPCU)
"I received the best service. Very nice and well educated nurses. They were
very supportive and professional. Got a lot better care than I had at KU Med Center."
(Cath Lab)
"Our son's Dr. was Dr. Meineke, and our nurse was Abbie. They are both outstanding
individuals! They not only provided excellent care for our 11 year old but the Dr. also
helped to assure me, Jim's Mom. I was very scared that he might have meningitis.
You – HMC – are very lucky to have them both on your staff!" (ED)
"AJ was very patient and explained things clearly to me. He was also very friendly
and understanding." (Outpatient Rehab)
"This hospital has the best staff on the planet. I'm not too easy to get along with
when I'm in the hospital, but EVERYONE here was so kind and helpful. I have nothing
but the best to say about everyone that I was in contact with during my stay. If I have
to be in the hospital again, this is where it will be if I have the choice. Thank you so
much for the wonderful care during my stay." (Inpatient PT/OT/ST)
"Debbie was always very professional. She always explained the exercises Creighton
was to do and the rationale which will help him to remember why he is doing what he is."
(Outpatient Rehab)
"Dr. Henry and his staff has always made my Dad‘s office visits comfortable. He has
Alzheimers and is always nervous when coming here. Dr. Henry and his staff have always
put my Dad at ease and treated him very personal. They are awesome. Thanks so much!"
