Support Groups

Dreiling/Schmidt Cancer Institute Support Group-This cancer support group is for anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer and their family members currently dealing with cancer. When you attend a support program, you have the opportunity to ask questions and talk with others dealing with similar issues. The informal educational portion is designed to aid in your coping and recovery process. You will also have an opportunity to meet other cancer survivors and their support person or caregiver. 2/14 - This support group is currently being reorganized to better meet patient needs.  Update will be provided shortly.

4th Angel Patient Mentor Program -Survivor to Patient. One-on-One Support. A free service for cancer patients. The program pairs you with a cancer survivor who provides you with support and answers the "what ifs." Anyone diagnosed with cancer is eligible to be matched with a mentor. 4th Angels are empathetic cancer survivors with firsthand knowledge. 4th Angel Caregiver Mentor Program -Caregiver to Caregiver. One-on-One Support. A free service for cancer caregivers. The program pairs you with a person, very much like yourself, who currently or at one time was a caregiver to someone with cancer. Anyone caring for someone with cancer is eligible to be matched with a mentor. When a caregiver requests a mentor, the program staff facilitates a match with respect to diagnosis, gender and age. Sisters of Survivorship (SOS)-An educational support group for persons affected by breast cancer, which offers women the opportunity to share mutual experiences while receiving the support needed to help them live with the disease. SOS is a survivor-led group of women who provide information, education, and confidential peer support to women living with breast cancer, so that no one faces this disease alone.
