Diabetes Symposium 2019 to be held at HaysMed on Dec. 3.
HAYS, Kan.–HaysMed, part of The University of Kansas Health System, will host a Diabetes Symposium on Tuesday, December 3, 2019. The programs is jointly provided by HaysMed, The University of Kansas Medical Center Continuing Education and Professional Development and the Area Health Education Center – West. The program will be held at HaysMed, part of The University of Kansas Health System, in the Hadley Conference Rooms.
Registration and breakfast for the program begins at 8:00 am. The program runs from 8:30 am – 1:30 pm. This program is designed to improve the care of diabetic patients including, but not limited to, dentistry and diabetes, diabetes medications, regulating diabetes medications with cancer medication, family practice and diabetes, sleep issues in diabetic patients and dermatology and diabetes.
Speakers for the program include: Paul Jones, DDS, Hays, and speakers from The University of Kansas Health System including, Kerstin Stephens, PA-C, CDE; Heather Harris, DO; and Lesa Klozenbacher, APRN.
The program is designed for physicians, physician assistants, advance practice providers, nurses, social workers, physical therapists, occupational therapists and other interested healthcare professionals.
All participants are required to complete and sign a “verification of attendance” form. After the program, a certificate of completion will be provided to activity participants based on documentation of actual attendance time.
All participants requesting continuing education credit must complete verification of attendance and evaluation form online. Instructions will be distributed at the time of sign-in.
Physicians: This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of The University of Kansas Medical Center Office of Continuing Medical Education and Hays Medical Center. CNE Hays Medical Center is approved as a provider of continuing nursing education by the Kansas State Board of Nursing. The course offering is 4 approved for contact hours applicable for RN or LPN re-licensure. Kansas State Board of Nursing approved provider number: LT0021-1138.
Respiratory therapy: The Hays Medical Center Respiratory Care Continuing Education Evaluator on behalf of the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts has approved this program for 4 CRCE hours. Providership No. 004.
PT/OT: Paperwork will be provided to submit to KOTA and KPTA for credits.
The fee for the program is $60 for non HaysMed employees, $30 for CAH employees. There is no registration fee for HaysMed, Pawnee Valley Campus , St. Rose Medical Pavilion, Great Bend Campus and Bistate consortium member.
