What are your fitness goals for 2017?
Continue on the weight machines to regain more strength and mobility to get close to where I was before my brain surgery and stroke. In 2016, I have set and reached several milestones on the weight lifting equipment. My most recent goal was to reach 1million pounds by my birthday, while not achieving by my birthday, I did reach 1 million pounds 2 days later. My next goal is 2 million pounds by September 2017. As of December 8, I am at 1,086,636 pounds.
What is your weekly workout routine?
I begin at The Center between 8am and 9:30am on a daily basis (Monday-Friday). I workout on multiple pieces of equipment for approximately 45-60minutes. I let my body tell me when I am done. I don’t set a daily weight goal.
What keeps you motivated?
My motivation comes from my 3 little blonde hair and blue-eyed granddaughters; ages 1, 4, and 6 years old. Their love and expression of how much they missed “Mimi” inspired and motivated me during my rehabilitation.
Do you have a success story to share?
I feel so blessed that I have survived a brain surgery in 2011. Not just one surgery, but to also survive yet another brain surgery and a mild stroke in 2014. Thank you to everyone for their encouragement to keep up the good work!
