Member of the Month – July 2016

By Gayla Wichman - In The Center News - July 11, 2016

austin and sarahNames: Sarah Condray and Austin Powers

Member Since:
Austin: October 2015
Sarah: January 2013

What are your fitness goals for 2016?
Austin: Lifting has become a lifestyle for me over the past 5 years. Honestly my goal is to now help other people achieve their goals with the knowledge I’ve gained.
Sarah: My fitness goals are to continue to get stronger and leaner! To go along with this, I need to work on diet. There are a lot of things I could cut back on here.

What is your weekly workout routine?

Austin: Lately we’ve been following a strength and explosive power workout. It is a four day routine and we include two extra days in with muscle groups we need to hit.
Sarah: I follow the same as Austin, but unfortunately less days a week because of work.

What keeps you motivated?
Austin: Sarah basically forces me to come in on her days off, so I’ve been doing 6 days for quite some time. It definitely helps when people ask me what I’m doing because they want my help to jumpstart their routine.
Sarah: Not to sound sappy, but Austin does! He pushes me to do more than I ever thought I could! It helps now that I’m seeing results and so are the people around me!

Do you have a success story to share?
Austin: Coming out of high school I was 190lbs at roughly 28% body fat. I was a football player so mass was a must; I never took supplements and was in the gym 5 days a week. I currently sit at 210lbs at about 15% body fat and hope to continue my progress toward a healthy lifestyle. It hasn’t always been easy but I’m glad I stuck to it.
Sarah: I used to come to the gym irregularly, run, and lift minimally, and go to classes occasionally. Then I started working out with Austin. Ever since then, I have lost 10lbs while also gaining a ton of muscle. I enjoy coming to the gym and I love seeing the results.
