MOVE150 / YOUTH150

Welcome to the National Medical Fitness Week MOVE150 Challenge! The American College of Sports Medicine encourages us to be physically active at least 150 minutes per week.

BE SURE TO ATTEND A SPECIAL CLASS AT THE CENTER!

*CHI Group Fitness Spring Blast – Saturday April 30th from 8:00-11:00am*

Join instructors from CHI as they lead classes in a variety of formats throughout the morning including: Yoga, Pilates, Spinning, Water Aerobics, HIIT, and lots more! Great workouts for any fitness level!

*Family Fitness Spring Blast – Thursday April 28th from 6:00-6:45pm*

Rain or Shine! Bring your family and friends and join us on the HaysMed Fitness Trail to usher in Spring with outdoor fun!

HOW TO PARTICIPATE
1) Pick up your Move150 card HERE. Download the YOUTH150 card HERE or have your child pick it up from their PE Teacher at school.

2) Complete a row or column of activity challenges, writing in the date completed

3) Exercises do not have to be completed in order, as long as the row/column is complete at the end of the week (be sure to date each box upon completion). Complete one box per day.

4) Submit your completed Move150 card to the Wellness Desk by May 4th. **Have your child turn their Youth150 card into their PE Teacher by May 4th.

WALK 10K

Welcome to the National Medical Fitness Week WALK10k Challenge! 10,000 steps a day (the equivalent of walking roughly five miles) is safe and effective whether you’re already active or just getting started. A good goal is to increase your daily steps each week by 500 per day until you are normally achieving 10,000 steps a day. Join the fun by participating in the WALK10k Challenge and take a step towards a healthier lifestyle!

HOW TO PARTICIPATE
1) Pick up your log sheet HERE.

2) The first official day of the program is April 23rd…begin wearing your pedometer/other tracking device or use the conversion sheet provided to estimate how many steps you log daily.

3) At the end of each day, enter your total daily steps on your log sheet, then reset your pedometer/other tracking device to be prepared for the next walking day!

4) Continue to follow this process throughout the entire week, from Saturday April 23rd through Friday, April 29th.

6) Submit your completed WALK10k log sheet to the Wellness Desk by May 4th.
