Staffing Hours:
Respiratory Care Department: 24 hours a day
Pulmonary Function Lab: Monday – Friday (8:00am – 4:00pm)
The Respiratory Care Department is staffed by Respiratory Therapists, who are Allied Health professionals with an associate degree in Respiratory Therapy and licensed with the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts.
They work under the direction of a physician and assist in the diagnosis, treatment and management of patients of all ages, with respiratory illnesses and other cardiopulmonary disorders and most often the most critically ill patients in the hospital.
– Delivering Aerosolized Drugs
– Breathing Exercises
– Oxygen Therapy
– Management of Life Support (Mechanical Ventilators)
– BiPAP/CPAP
– Pulmonary Function Diagnostic Testing.
