It’s important that you test your device before your TeleHealth appointment. You will need audio and video functions.

No Internet connection? No video capability? A virtual visit – telephone only – may be an option for you. You can discuss this when you call to schedule.

How the visit works

You will connect with a care provider using teleconference technology. Once connected, you’ll be able to see and hear your provider just as though you were together in a traditional office visit. Based on this interaction, your provider will assess your condition and make recommendations for your ongoing care.

How to prepare for your TeleHealth visit.

You will need an internet connection, a device (smartphone, tablet or computer) with audio and video capabilities, and have access to the HaysMed Patient Portal.  Review our guide to prepare your device.  Call the Patient Portal hotline at 785-623-5151 to enroll in the Patient Portal.

Once you have access to the HaysMed Patient Portal please test the audio and video in advance of your appointment to ensure it can occur.

Connecting to your visit

Once you’ve scheduled a TeleHealth visit, you’ll receive an email about your appointment with a link to your patient portal.  At 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time, you can log into your patient portal and start your visit.  The option to start your visit will not be available prior to that time.
