Hays, Kansas – Starting in January The Center for Health Improvement (CHI) is offering a unique 3 part workout series, Box n Burn. The workout series is designed around boxing strategies and moves.

Series 1, Boxing 101, begins on January 6 – 30 and provides a beginners program for men and women to learn the basics of boxing.  Participants will learn about boxing equipment and how to throw a variety of punches correctly.

Series 2, Boxing Reload begins on February 10 and runs through Mach 5.  In this session participants will learn combo moves with intense footwork.  To enroll you must have attended the Boxing 101.

Series 3, Boxing Unleashed begins on March 16 and runs through April 9.  In this session you will train like an elite fighter and learn new strength training techniques and drills including speed, agility, reaction and defensive.  A pre-requisite of enrolling in Series 3 is the completion of Series 2.

All three sessions are held on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday nights from 6:30 pm – 7:15 pm. Registration is limited to 20 participants per session.  The fee for Series 1 is $60 for CHI members and $96 for non-members.  Fees for Series 2 are $45 for CHI members and $81 for non-members.  Series 3 fees are $45 for CHI members and $81 for non-members.

The instructor for all sessions is Tomas Partida, who has over 19 years of boxing experience. He has fought in over 100 amateur fights and was a regional and national competitor in the states of New Mexico and Kansas.  He also represented Kansas in the 2016 Olympic trials for Rio.
