HaysMed’s Jayne Inlow Receives Citizen of the Year Award at Hays Chamber Banquet
HaysMed is delighted to spotlight the remarkable achievements of Jayne Inlow, who serves as a Development Officer for the HaysMed Foundation. At the 2024 Annual Awards Banquet hosted by The Chamber of Commerce in Hays, Kansas, held at Fort Hays State University on January 30, Jayne Inlow was honored with the Nex-Tech Citizen of the Year award.
During the ceremony, Chamber President and CEO Sarah Wasinger acknowledged the exceptional contributions of community members in different areas, as well as the commitment of Chamber staff and board members. Wasinger included, “Jayne’s quiet yet impactful contributions to the Kiwanis Club of Hays and various community initiatives earned her this prestigious recognition.”
The following statement was shared during the banquet, highlighting Inlow’s significant philanthropic efforts and influence within the Hays community, earning her the Nex-Tech Citizen of the Year award:
Some people are destined to be bold leaders and accomplish incredible feats while maneuvering in the front lines. Others take a humbler approach, working quietly with others in the background to make a positive difference in the lives of those around them. Tonight’s Citizen of the Year recipient is the latter. Chances are, you have seen numerous fruits of this individual’s labor as you have traversed across the wonderful city of Hays and haven’t even known she had a helping hand in making those things come into fruition.
As a dedicated member of the Kiwanis Club of Hays for the past six years, she has invested countless hours supporting this organization by distributing flags throughout the community on patriotic holidays, helped organize the Wild West Festival Saloon, served on the 70th anniversary celebration committee, and coordinated the community’s largest easter egg hunt. Additionally, she serves as a current Kiwanis board director and was responsible for bringing numerous funding opportunities that benefitted hundreds of youth right here in Hays.
When she is not doing good work through Kiwanis, this year’s award winner can be found volunteering for The Chamber as a proud Ambassador, where serves as a positive beacon of encouragement and support of local businesses and the individuals they employ. One of her most noteworthy contributions to this organization and many others across the community is the knowledge and expertise that she brings to the Annual Chamber Golf Tournament and numerous other fundraisers for area non-profits, such as The ARC of Central Plains annual Festival of the Trees. She has given freely of her spare time to help set up these online auctions, which has garnered her the nickname of “Click Bid Hero.” She also serves on the Campus Community Collaborative that is dedicated to empowering the relationships between FHSU and the communities it serves.
“This is a well-deserved honor,” said HaysMed Foundation Executive Director Jeff Brull, “The list of people and organizations that owe successes to Jayne’s efforts over the years is more extensive than I think anyone even realizes.” HaysMed extends heartfelt congratulations once again to Jayne Inlow. Her exemplary dedication and contributions make a significant and positive impact not only within the HaysMed organization but also within the broader Hays community. HaysMed commends her outstanding efforts and unwavering commitment to excellence, which serve as an inspiration to all.
