Most patients understand that diabetes is a biological illness. Perhaps many fewer realize that health care researchers have also documented the importance of psychological and social factors in the development and effective management of diabetes. Health care systems have responded to this knowledge by integrating these components into health education and treatment. During the Diabetes Solutions program, Dr. Davis will present information to aid participants in understanding how these factors influence their health, as well as discuss ideas and techniques to support healthy coping patterns to manage diabetes.
