Ribbon Cutting Marks Opening of HaysMed’s New Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit
HAYS, KS – HaysMed, a leading healthcare provider in the region, celebrated a significant milestone on June 22 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony to inaugurate its new inpatient rehabilitation unit. The unit, featuring eleven beds, officially opened its doors on July 1, providing rehabilitation services to patients in need. HaysMed has engaged Lifepoint Rehabilitation, a business unit of Lifepoint Health, to manage the operations of this vital unit.
Terry Siek, Chief Nursing Officer at HaysMed, emphasized the positive impact the new inpatient rehabilitation unit will have on patients’ lives: ” With the establishment of this dedicated unit, we are fulfilling a local need for inpatient rehabilitation services and ensuring that our patients can access the high-quality care they require in their own community. The rehabilitation unit will cater to a diverse range of patients, including stroke survivors, individuals with spinal cord injuries, those with neurological conditions, patients recovering from cardiac events or heart surgeries, orthopedic patients, individuals with pulmonary conditions, amputees, individuals experiencing debility, functional decline, and other individuals with complex medical conditions.
Dr. Robert L. Rosin will serve as the Medical Director of the new inpatient rehabilitation unit. Dr. Rosin, with a medical degree from The University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City and residency experience at The University of Kansas Affiliated Hospital in Wichita, brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the team. Dr. Rosin will play a pivotal role in ensuring that patients receive comprehensive and compassionate care throughout their rehabilitation journey.
