Andrea Harmony

“The value of the food you put in your body is the value of energy you should expect to come out. Many individuals push themselves to get more and more done all the time and often complain about fatigue. They give little consideration about what they have fed their bodies for the amount of work they want to get done. The saying garbage in, garbage out is very true for your body too. I like to work with people keeping their philosophy in mind and focus more on getting the good foods into their diet and then gradually those good foods to replace less nourishing foods they are consuming. People can easily understand the value of healthy eating when they feel so much better.”

Most patients understand that diabetes is a biological illness. Perhaps many fewer realize that health care researchers have also documented the importance of psychological and social factors in the development and effective management of diabetes. Health care systems have responded to this knowledge by integrating these components into health education and treatment. During the Diabetes Solutions program, Dr. Davis will present information to aid participants in understanding how these factors influence their health, as well as discuss ideas and techniques to support healthy coping patterns to manage diabetes.

I have been given the incredible opportunity to see what the human body can do when we are determined to live an active and healthy life. I want to live the rest of my life being active and feeling the best I can. I know that choice is mine and if I don’t take the right path I won’t be able to thoroughly enjoy the rest of my life the way I want to.
